Your report really takes us there with you and gives us a real taste of the trail, your frame of mind, your experiences along the way... Whether we're arm chair adventurers, hard core ultranuts, or fall somewhere in between, you make us feel a part of your record (and you make us want to come along!)

Your quest to keep expanding the limits of what's possible--while at the same time savoring every tase, smell, vista, and difficulty--will continue to motivate the rest of us for years to come. Here's to the next great adventure!

see you on the trails,

BarryBarry Lewishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17808171465654119529noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798442057235183196.post-33185331482894604362007-09-13T18:48:00.000-07:002007-09-13T18:48:00.000-07:00Rock on, Sue. It really is the culmination of all your experience through-hiking and ultrarunning to combine those skills towards your goal. Of course, an awesome - and dare I say, goodlooking - crew helps you a bit, but ultimately it was your own mental and physical strength. I'm glad you did the scenic trip on the way down, the familiarisation was a good idea as well as getting some of the flower-viewing out of the way ahead of time. Still, I know you appreciate your surroundings no matter how fast you are going through them.

Thanks for posting some of your sleep strategy, I find that useful knowledge in case I ever- I mean *when* I get to the start of something over 100 miles.

I am really happy for you. We were in our tent on the ridgeline and you yelled out to us so that we wouldn't freak out (bear fear). Don't know if that was you, but it so, we thought you were a ranger (we were not really an LNT distance away from the trail-the cliff kinda limiting our possibilities).

I told my wife the next day that we would probably cross record breakers. Guess we crossed the path of the ultimate record breaker!

GREAT JOB!!!!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07428366201599209744noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798442057235183196.post-57478692810846793102007-09-06T11:30:00.000-07:002007-09-06T11:30:00.000-07:00Awesome job. I missed you at Hardrock this year. I could have used your company as I laid down going up Handies this year about 10 times. Believe me, I thought about you. Glad your nose...Absolutely terrific accomplishment. Glad your nosebleed stopped. That can be a scary experience. Found a note on the trail on the PCT in Southern Calif from a thru-hiker ahead of us. She had a nosebleed that wasn't stopping, and the note gave instructions on who to notify if they found her body. Luckily we found no body, and heard later that she was ok. Anyway, added your record to my jmt page on backpack45.com - a lot more action on the jmt and pct records than I was expecting.Timecheckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03655966328174898998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798442057235183196.post-14798582852495305382007-09-02T11:48:00.000-07:002007-09-02T11:48:00.000-07:00Just amazing!
